Ethics & Issues of Cyber-bullying
For context, cyber-bullying is when someone posts or sends embarrassing or threatening pictures or messages about someone for the public to see. This is a major issue for teens and preteens in today's technology based world. Because of this immature behavior young people around the world are being emotionally, and even physically hurt. I believe cyber-bullying is caused by the same people and for the same reasons physical bullying exists. Bullies have issues of their own that make them want to make other people feel their pain and suffer like them as a release. Personally I believe that middle schools should take action when cyber-bullying is reported. Though when kids get to high school, they are introduced to adulthood and should be able to deal with their own issues and stand up to the people who are making them feel the way they do, whether it is by reporting them to local law enforcement (if laws apply) or discuss the issue like people. Later in life, when applying for jobs, employers may check online social profiles and base your judgement skills upon your social life. Therefore it is a major issue if you are a victim.
